NLU Career Bridge
Corporate America Supports You (CASY) brings military and veteran job seekers together with employers who are looking to hire. Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (MSCCN) provides training to increase job placement and career development for military spouses and family members.
Hire our Heroes provides transition assistance, job search/placement services particularly for veterans of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, with specific resources for wounded or disabled veterans.
Thresholds offers a range of internship opportunities for students pursuing a degree in Social Work, Clinical, or Counseling Psychology programs, particularly at the graduate level. Their programs provide opportunities for students to gain experience in case management, therapy, outreach work, group psychotherapy, residential treatment, supported employment, and substance abuse.
Troops to Teachers provides counseling and referral services for participants to help them meet education and licensing requirements to teach and subsequently helps them secure a teaching position.
The Office of Personnel Management in support of the President’s Veterans Employment Initiative, created a one-stop web site resource for Federal veteran employment information. The information on this site is designed to ensure veterans, transitioning service members, and their families receive accurate and consistent information regarding veteran’s employment in the Federal Government.
Allen Lynch Foundation
The Foundation’s mission is to “remove road blocks” that might impede or stop the veteran from becoming a contributing and happy member of society. The AJ Lynch Foundation was formed to provide onetime funding(grants not loans) to veterans and their families in order to assist in their recovery from financial hardships.
Illinois Joining Forces serves as a statewide public-private partnership that promotes the efficient delivery of Growth and Wellness initiatives for Service Members, Veterans, and their Families at the community level throughout the State of Illinois.
All military-affiliated students will recieve the NLU Military Scholarship once the application is completed.
My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA)
The My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) Scholarship Program is a workforce development program that provides up to $4,000 of financial assistance to eligible military spouses who are pursuing a license, certification or Associate’s degree in a portable career field and occupation.
NMFA can help fund education, career, or business goals for military spouses. NMFA awards an average of $500 for career funding and $1000 for degrees. Up to $2500 is available for clinical supervision towards licensure in the mental health profession. Spouses are also eligible for funding, typically $1000, to build their own businesses.
American Bar Association
Veterans face a wide array of legal issues created by their unique circumstances. The ABA provides a list of resources designed to provide attorneys and veterans with assistance related to challenges in obtaining medical care, disability benefits, reemployment rights, consumer, housing, criminal and family law matters, and in obtaining legal counsel.
John Marshall Veterans Legal Support Center & Clinic (VLSC)
The Veterans Legal Support Center & Clinic (VLSC) works on all aspects of Veteran Benefits Administration claims, from the initial, factual intake to the technical representation of claims at the appellate level.
Provide top civil legal needs for veterans and families that fall into the broad categories of housing, family, and consumer law issues. In addition, veterans often need assistance with VA benefits and appeals and discharge upgrades.
Free Legal Clinic
Get free legal advice about: VA disability benefits, veterans pension, discharge upgrades, consumer law, housing law, family law, SSI/Public benfits, healthcare law, and other non-criminal legal issuess for all low-income veterans, current and former military service members. We provide services every THIRD THURSDAY of the month from 12:00 -4:00pm.

Military Outreach USA is a 501(c)3 not for profit which exists to encourage, engage, educate and equip individuals, houses of worship and organizations throughout the nation to provide a supporting role to our military community. This community is comprised of our military (active duty, guard, and reserves), veterans, and their families who are impacted by the visible and invisible wounds of military service.
The primary mission of Chaplain Services is to provide for the religious/spiritual care of veteran patients and outpatients and the spiritual support of their families and significant others.
Through the support and programs we provide, and our respected voice on Capitol Hill and with the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs, our Association always looks out for the families who stand behind the uniform and for those who serve. Illinois Joining Forces (IJF) is a network of public and not-for-profit organizations working together to improve services to Illinois’ military and veteran communities by offering a compilation of resources ranging from legal to disability benefits to financial literacy.
Military Officers Association of America (MOAA)
A nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that works to support military officers and their families at every stage of life. MOAA plays an active role with Congress on behalf of the military community on issues that affect the career force, the retired community, and veterans of the uniformed services. They also offer a range of personal and financial services exclusive to MOAA membership.
CHICAGO DOWNTOWN CAMPUS
NLU’s Chicago campus on South Michigan Avenue occupies five floors of the historic Peoples Gas Building. This landmark building, across the street from the Art Institute of Chicago and Grant Park, is easily accessible by train, bus and car and is surrounded by restaurants, parking lots/garages and shops.
Conveniently located in a fast-growing business district off I-90 and Route 31, NLU Elgin features 10 classrooms with high-tech media equipment; a computer lab with high-speed Internet access; two conference rooms; and comfortable student lounges. Parking is free at this recently remodeled and upgraded teaching site, which now includes wireless Internet access.
Opened in the summer of 2006, NLU North Shore at Skokie is a state-of-the-art modern campus located just off the Edens Expressway near the Old Orchard Shopping Center. The campus includes 44 wireless classrooms equipped with high-tech media equipment; four computer labs with high-speed Internet access, including a walk-in lab in the library; six conference rooms; a public café for beverages and snacks; a student welcome center; a library for research and study; and multiple, comfortable student lounge areas.
Located just minutes from the East-West Tollway (I-88), NLU Lisle features 42 wireless classrooms equipped with high-tech media equipment; four computer labs with high-speed Internet access, including a separate walk-in lab in the library; a café for beverages and snacks; a student welcome center; a library for research and study; conference rooms; and six comfortable student lounge areas with wireless access.
Located in one of Chicago’s major northwest suburbs, the newly renovated NLU Wheeling includes 20 classrooms with high-tech media equipment, four conference rooms, four computer labs with high-speed Internet access, large student lounge areas with wireless capabilities and interactive video capabilities, and an extensive research library. The site also houses the university library research collection.
Established in 1988 and located in one of Tampa’s major business districts, NLU’s Florida Regional Center serves students in 13 counties in central Florida. In addition to its classrooms, the National Louis University Tampa Regional Center features a computer lab, student lounges, and conference room.]]>
